    There you go....

    Get the basics sorted first...

decent induction, decent exhaust, manifold yada

cams on it, remap. work out how much is left then put it into a savings account.
  12. #12
dont be boring. get some decent suspension, good brakes. then get good breathing mods, cams and remap. you will then have a fun saxo to drive
  13. #13
yh if ur ginna make engine powerful then u your cars needs to be able to handle it

i.e. what there all saying look at handleing and brakes etc etc
  14. #14
firstly what are you going to be using the car for? is it going to be a PURE track car, or is it going to be a daily driver that you want fucking fast.

This should determine what route you go with the engine and car itself.

the thing most people forget is that as bmw said power is nothing without control, so if you have 200+bhp and shit brakes and suspension the chances are you wont be a owner of the car for very long before theres some metal getting bent.

peraonally i prefer NA and throttle bodies, esepc on something like a track car. However it is FAR FAR easyer to get big power from boost. And alot of people can run boosted engines for daily drivers aswell. on the TU engine supercharging seems to have great effects, and gives a good power delivery, and so i would say turbos are the last resort lol!

A car with a turbo can be more difficult to drive around a track as to be fast you have to keep the car on boost at all times.

I've seen many a well driven N/a run rings around much higher powered turbo'd varient as a result
  16. #16
why i had turbo as last resort

    TBS all the way

mine should be all working soon hopefully
  17. #17
forget the downsides lol get a turbo oohwheeeeee....

No ignore me lol. i think if your sensible you'd put a grand ish asside for the engine (cams, manifold, head, exhaust) and then keep the rest saved up.

I couldnt spend 3k like that on a car.... over time yea but not when ive got it in my account waiting lol.
  18. #18
decent brakes and suspension first, then exhaust manifold filter then go cams and see what you have left
  19. #19
definutly get a decent suspension and brake setup first mate
  20. #20

  22. #22

  26. #26

dunno bout a turbo could i get all the parts for 3k??

weres the best place to get cams/ecu ect i was looking on gmcmotorsport anywere else??

    thanks for help guys
  27. #27
you could get all the parts for turbo for that and pay for some fitting.
cam wise have a search mate, shed loads of threads on it.
also what do you mean by big brake conversion ie standard calipers?
    what suspension you choosing.
  28. #28
3000 to spend on a saxo!! Lucky man! I think id be going for the cam, throttle bodies and headwork personally and along with the breathing mods and new brakes, your looking at a rapid motor with money still to spare.

    Thats what id do anyway!
  29. #29
ffs, this is a saxo enthusiats site not a financil advisory site. people on here like their saxo and want to add their personal touch to it to have a car they like and enjoy driving. if your going to say how shit saxos are sell up and get on another forum.

imo, the people that tell you not to spend your £££££ on your car are the 1s that cant afford to

there's nothing quite like a high powered N/a car.. Not sure that 3K is enough to tune the car and chassis for a turbo
