    I am currently running standard VTR alloys and i have got 16s on order with 45mm profiles, will they increase my acceleration?

    And what would i need to increase the acceleration on my VTR i currently have induction kit and performance backbox, ideally something cheapish, what is recommended?

    how will bigger wheels increase accell ... search the F.A.Q's there is a write up in there explaining it

    depends on how much you want to spend to acheive gains

    no 16s wont help aceeleration

    cheapest thing todo to improve it is take things out so the cars lighter

    If you increase the rolling radius of the wheel you will raise the gearing making it slower to accellerate. Worse still the heavier alloys will increase the unsprung mass making the performance of the suspension worse too.

    Try some 13s with rubber band tyres

    For cheap engine mods I'd look at a raceland manifold next. Would compliment the induction kit nicely.
    You might also want to consider getting a full exhaust system on there.

    Are we talking a noticible difference to acceleration?

    Raceland manifold? how much would i be talking for one of them?

    i had 17s on my car. put the vtr wheels back on which are a 14 and saw quite a difference.
    bigger wheels slow you down.

    the standard vtr alloys have bigger tyres than the 16s, so that will add to the diameter of the wheel? surely there wont be that much of a difference?

    Also with this raceland manifold what sort of bhp will it add and how hard will it be to put on?

    You can keep the rolling radius the same by using lower profile tyres. What you can't offset is the extra weight.

    The manifold is easy to fit.. most difficult bit is getting the bolts off but a good soak in releasing fluid overnight normally does the trick.
    I try not to get tied down with making bhp claims.. what I have found though with the raceland is that you do get gains throughout the entire rev range.

    to keep the same diameter you need 40 profile on 16. loose extra weight by having lightweight wheels
