manifolds!

    hi im thinking of buying a raceland manifold for my mk1 vtr black rocker. ive been reading jeeves_101 post but thought i wont hijack it anymore!!!

    will the raceland just bolt straight on to a 97 reg vtr or will the oil filter or anything need to be relocated??!!

    also is raceland a good manifold to buy or are there any better ones?

    and my mk1 has a green ram air induction kit, and a powerflow cat back system what kind of power gains could i get from this manifold??

    also would a decat and a mangex exhaust be better than the powerflow?

    think they fit straight on mate but im not sure so dont hold me on that

    the quality of them is ok, but it is the best one for 140 quid for sure

    you wont get much more out your car with a manifold might gain 1bhp if your lucky

    you will get more gains from a decat mate, id rather have a magnex over a powerflow anyday

    yeah mate straight bolt onto a mk 1 vtr

    It will definitely bolt straight on without any issues with the oilfilter

    i thought a raceland manifold was more than that new!!

    but would i really only get about 1bhp lol ive read that they can give you 10-20% bhp increase!!! thought that was ambitios but i was thinking you would get at least 5 bhp!!

    ive heard that a decat gives about 3 bhp.

    also would a magnex be better for performance than a powerflow??

    oh also how much better would a milltec or gmc manifold be over a raceland??

    i have 4-2-1 manifold, decat cat continued with straigh through 2" pipe to magnex back box and the power flow back box i had the system first made with was very slightly faster that i noticed but this maybe because i no longer had a loud rally stlye sound but aparently also the powerflow is a free flow box i was told with no silencers in it which the magnex has

    anyway good gains when all combined, more than 1bhp definitly!

    i have a decat and magnex system on my mk2 vtr. I wanted to put a manifold on my mk1 and im gonna strip it and make it for track/fast road use!

    i was thinkin to get manifold decat then maybe chip/remap and a high lift cam

    will a 4-2-1 manifold be better with a remap also with a 4-2-1 manifold and decat would that not make the exhaust gas flow a lot more freely?

    you sould just be getting a re map after you have done everything to the engine mate, chips are a waste of time

    do you know where a good place to go for one is and roughly how much i would have to spend

    not allways the case on all cars. decating and removing the first chamber for combustion can cause a decrease in power/torque. its a debate that will go on for a long time.
