98bhp VTR head in place of a 90bhp?

Hi,

I have the option (tbc) of buying a secondhand 98bhp silvertop VTR head (ported/polished by GMC) and I was wondering if anyone could confirm whether or not it would fit into a 90bhp silvertop VTR (wider spaced inlet manifold).

I'd also like to ask whether or not this would give a significant increase in performance with the below mods: -

4-2-1 manifold
de-cat, s/s zorst system (mongoose)
Newman PH1 fast road cam (mild)
BMC induction.
Dastek Unichip (to be fitted & mapped)

By the way there is no 'grey' area regarding the head.

It was skimmed by GMC which i did not know at the time of putting the advert up but thought i had said to you in a PM. I never mentioned it having port/polish.

The SSC is my main site and has been for nearly 7 years now lol so it wasn't going to go unoticed.

The guy who i bought the parts off is on the ssc and wants me to fit the head as he raves how good it is. The only thing that stopped me was money due to being at uni. Now that i am finishing uni soon i am thinking of buying a faster car to start with rather than putting money into the saxo.

If my brother would buy my car when i sell then none of the parts would be for sale, they would be fitted so he could enjoy them!

That is fine from now on but i just want to put my reply from the ssc on here:

Cool mate but it just looked like i had offered you a head for your car that wouldnt fit and was sketchy about the details, bottom line making me look dodgy.

I know you didnt mention my name but i thought it best to clear it up as i thought some people would know it was me selling it and again i look dodgy as a result.

All i wanted to do was make things clear which was that you sent me a PM asking about a for sale ad that is now 6 months old, which at the time i said i did not know what had been done to the head and certainly never mentioned a port/polish.

I said to you in a recent PM that i did not think the head would fit to your car but it was best to call GMC and ask them (wealth of knowledge on here or not that is the best place imo), did you do this?

The reasing i am stressing my point is that someone's rep can easily be ruined by one thing, (the situation between Chandler and shaggers_saxvtr comes to mind) i do not want this.

I didnt mean anything funny in my last post/comment which is why i put the smiley at the end.

Can you put a 98bhp head on a 90bhp engine?

Yes you can but with some serious rework to inlet etc etc, all of which doesnt make it cost effective, be easier to source a proper 90bhp head.
