ABS

  1. #1
Whilst cornering hard (on a private road ) my car seems to jolt, bang bang bang like the brakes are trying to stop it from sliding. My car is a 1.1 (Desire model with extras). Is this the ABS kicking in?? Is there any way to find out for definate if my carhas ABS?

also, if it does... is there any way to turn it off?

    cheers

k no it doesn't have that symbol on ignition so I'm guessing it doesn't have ABS. Would there be anything else causing it to act like that? it has:

    16" TSW Evo R alloys
    Yokohama A539 195/45/R16
    SPAX PSX 50mm sus kit
    Rear torsion adjusted to -55mm
    E-Tech upper strut brace
    OMP lower strut brace

    thanks alot

Sounds like it's your driveshaft, but I can't see that causing the car to jolt.

The drveshafts are both basically brand new. They've only done 4k miles since they were replaced.

id get the wheel off and make sure evrything is tight

might even be the wheel whats not tight

then id check the suspension for movement
