Exhaust

At present, I've got an AX Peco BB4 "bodged" onto my centre section, but the fit really is quite poor.

Anyway, I've decided to sell the BB4 to an AX owner, who will be able to fit it correctly, and treat myself to a new exhaust.

Looking to spend less than £100 on just a backbox, or up to £150 on a full system. I found a sportex system within my budget, however I'm not sure whether it's what I'm looking for. The description states that you cut the centre section after the cat and "attach" the Sportex there. What does it mean by that, would it have to be welded on?

Alternatively I could just go for another Peco box, or even just a Sportex box, however the flange on the end of my present centre section is quite corroded, making a good connection to the backbox pretty impossible to achieve. Therefore I'd like to go for a full system, so long as I can without having to weld anything!

    Opinions welcome.

all that text and we still have know idea what car its going on! lol

tbh if its a 1.1 which im guessing it is the sportex system your looking at is advertised for one.

tbh i'd just get a back box, no point spending more money than you have to. an extra bit of piping will make no difference to the performance of your car mate!

theres always people selling back boxs on here, also check ebay

    Oops, it's a 1.1 LOL

Was only thinking of the Sportex system as I thought it'd be nice to replace the centre section at the same time - but only if I don't have to weld anything!

If I would have to weld it, I'll just get a back box and tidy up the flange a bit...

    Cheers,

couple of mates had sportex's, including a manifold, and they said they were absolute shite.

Sportex are OK if your just want a backbox, got a 4" oval on mine. (click the link in my sig for pics)

I wouldn't go for there full systems as i found the fit wasn't very good on my Orion a few years ago, but not sure what fit is like on a saxo.

Regard to "cutting the centre section" you would cut the pipe after the cat, slide the new pipe onto it and them use an exhaust clamp. Don't have to weld.

Id probally stick to either a Sportex back box or Peco back box - both will have a huge choice of tailpipe options. Have a look on www.performancecentre.co.uk for Peco exhausts and other exhausts

Used them in the past and recieved a good service, no complants.

Your probally have to break the £100 mark for a stainless steel back box from Peco although I think they still sell mild steel items which will be alittle cheaper
