nasty rocker cover

what can i do to the 1.6 8v (Silver top) rocker cover, thought about painting but can i keep it off for a few hours or will underneath dry out if i keep it off for too long as when i spray paint things i usually take hours doin it

should be fine for a few hours, just maybe cover it so no shit gets inside the engine

When Ive done rocker covers in the past including my S covers I just coverd the cam/s with a old T-shirt and should be fine even over night if covered.

Always make sure to make sure you get all the oily crap off the cover as even the smallest amount of oily dirt could cause the paint to flake after a while. Best to take you time and make sure you give it a really good clean and a good couple of coats of prima too before putting the top coat on

out of interest is there any special paint and primer your meant to use to do this as i wana do mines aswell

ive heard u need to get higt temperature primer and high temperature paint but normal laquer will do
