i.4 westcoast overheating on motorway

  1. #1
right i have had my 1.4 mk1 westcoast for 1 year now and always seems to overheat at high speeds ie 90mph if i do more that 5 miles at 90 the red warning lights come on.

    so far i have had
pipercross air filter, badass induction kit and now trying a simota ram air kit.

    have had
    new radiator
    new oil temp switch
    new heater matrix
    samco hoses
water pump checked and told works fine.
system bleeded so many times it beggers belief.
fan checked and works when needed.

when i go through town at 30-40 mph the temp needle sits on half but when i get on the motorway the temp just goes up and up and up until light comes on.

thanks for reading this far any suggestions would be muchly appreciated

thats wierd mate. maybe your gauge is knackerd or maybe its the temp sensor thats fits in the back of the rad thats knackered sounds odd to me mate never heard of it going up on motorways it usually goes down and then goes up in town when you are crawling

also forgot to mention i had an new higher temp thermostat fitted

iwas thinking of fitting an oil temp gague in a pillar pod aswell just incase it is the dials that is knackered

am i right in thinking that the engine is ok so long as it runs between 90-100 degree's Celcius
