VTR 0-60 times

  1. #1
I have a 98 VTR and its booked at 0-60 in 9.8, i got it tested the other day becuse i thought mine was faster, and it did it in 8.7, on average my fastest run was 8.3. Now to me this seems fast for a VTR, bearing in mind i only have pipercross induction kit and exhaust for preformance. Oh and 16s with 45s on.

Anyone else know what there 0-60 times are?

And shoudl mine be that low?

parkers are shite, depends on a lot of factors aswel, how you timedit, reactions on starting and stopping, slightly down hill, wind be hind you etc etc..... I would say thats a very good run. Will test mine when i get it back as book on mine is 9.9 but a rolling start against a 98bhp i pulled away.

doubt it lol, not calling you a liar mate just, that is fast lol

Find a perfectly flat bit of private road. Time it from there! If a passenger was timing it, he might have stopped it a bit early, scream stop at him/her when you hit 60. Its never going to be accurate timing it with a stop watch, but is fun!

My mate wired it all up electronically, with digital speedo etc and it timed it its self.

It was a perfectly flat road and we did 10 runs. Plus i have the wrong tyres on so its making my speedo read higher so technically i should be running faster.

Apparently though, i could just have a good one so I have been told by a few people.

He charges £75 a time, if he wasnt doing it for free i would of just got the stopwatch out

    does sound a bit fast

mines been timed at 8.75 thats with 16s and boot full

mods are manifold de cat piper exhaust and bmc

the timing gear was a bit weird so not saying thats true

mine did the 1/4 mile in 15.8 secs though

firstly you wont find 60 in second gear JFYI, IMO is there any point in timing it ad hoc!? Surely this isnt accurate so thefore not worth it - get to a meet where they have a strip & run it down a few times... job done.

It gets to about 58mph in second, and when i change to 3rd its basically there. And this way of checking is extremely accurate, we also timed with a stop watch and got very similer results.

Also tested a 1.1i saxo with induction kit and VTR alloys and that did it in 12.48 seconds.

vtr on standard wheels hits 58mph at 6040rpm in second, so not sure why you found that so hard to believe? Vtr hits 59.5mph @ limiter in 2nd.

yea my road angel says 58 when im at the redline in second! just wish i could get an extra 2 mph! must be possible somehow!
