Peugeot Master Cylinder

  1. #1
Does anyone know if the Master Cylinder from a 306 diesel will fit to my vts.

Is there anything that needs to be checked on the replacement (any bits that wear away/fail/anything like that???)

I'm using WP Pro 6 pots and 292mm rotors and the pedal has to be pushed at least half way before they bite!

306 ones fit the servo fine, but you might need to change the resevoir. Cant remember what my master cylinder was off, but its a 23.8mm one, and the resevoir was fucking massive LOL Just change it for the Saxo resevoir.

yeah the pug res is huge altho u can use it and the bonnet shuts supprisingly but it loos stupid so u need to put the saxo one on and change the seals over like i did

Will fitting these make any difference to standard brake set up
  9. #9
you dont need it on a standard brake setup the only reason its recommended when fitting 283mm setup is because the calipers pistons are bigger so they require more fluid to push them out so with the standard mc it makes the brake pedal travel more before it brakes (mine was half way down with 283mm and standard mc) but when u fit the 23.8mm mc it removes the brake pedal travel and strats brakign soon as u touch the pedal

why do you want teh MC off a diesal? it will be same size if not smaller than your vts MC.

I was led to believe that the larger pugs/citroens had larger mc's. Are you saying that the 306 diesel one is the same size as a standard vts one???
  12. #12
proabably smalleer. it depends what brakes they use to what MC they have. only teh 283mm calipers and above will use that MC, some 266mm brakes aswell.
  13. #13
i would expect the diesal to have 247mm.

Quite a few of the diesels Ive seen in scrappies have 283's. Cant actually remember if they were HDis or Dturbos though.

    they all phase2s?
suppose it depends what you get it off.

After reading this thread im wondering if I may need a slightly larger MS for my
    Wilwood 4 pots?
Or would you reckon I can get away with the standard one?

I sometimes feel that I have to give the pedal a proper push before they will
give, especially when they were first fitted.

definatly get a 23mm mc for them, for the sake of £20 u might aswell and it realy needs it on those, u can get away with using the standard one but when u have spent all that money on them willwoods u want it running sweet and the pedel lenth will be shite with standard mc

some 4 pots are made for standard MC though. not sure about wilwoods.

Thing is, Rally Design have changed their site and I cant even find my style
    calipers on there anymore.
Will have to look through my reciepts.
