How to do the perfect 0 - 60

  1. #1
    In your opinions what is the perfect way to go about getting your cars best 0 - 60.
    What are the bets revs to build up to before flooring it, best time to change gear etc etc
  2. #2
    depends on spec of engine, road conditions, suspension, if you have a diff etc...

    and how fast the lights change outside maccy ds yo!
  3. #3
    floor it in 1st then change to second, floor it again and then hit 60 in second
  4. #4
    vts can do 60 in second gear, one less gear change.

    its a different sort of surface to the road though. could reduce the tyres by a few psi but the increased drag further down the strip outweighs the benifits at the start.

    try dragging the clutch slughtly to avoid wheel spin.

    i find to have the handbrake on and the car straining against the handbrake.... then on the light change drop your handbrake and go for it..... never wheelspan while doing that

    speedos are not accurate.

    unless yours has a raised limiter then you are not hitting 60

    what do VTS's hit the limiter at?
  17. #17
    mine dose 65-67 in 2nd at about 7300-7500 rpm roughly.
  18. #18
    assuming 195/45 15's:

    7300rpm = 61.9MPH

    7500rpm = 63.6MPH

    Whats a safe rev limit, if you have it completely unlimited while your touching on the subject

    not standard it cant

    You actually want to get a very small amount of wheel spin on the launch.. it stops the engine bogging down..
