17s

   hi has anyone got 17s with 205/40/17 tyres on.will these go on or do you need mods thanks

   If you dont lower it yes should be ok, but it will sit soo damn high will look ridiculous. 17's are too big imo for a sax..

   should go on without too many probs, providing your not lowered, although if you have people in the back expect some scrubbage!
   
   and if your planning on lowering it, which i expect you will be unless your going for the 4x4 look, then say hello to the angle grinder!

   I have 205/40/ZR17 on my saxo. and its on spacers.
   
   and im lowered 40mm and i get some rubbing.
   
   the grinder will be coming out before long.
   
   i wouldnt advise getting 17's unless your prepared to do some work.

   at the moment its got 15s on with 25mm spacers and i still get rubbing on the back. i think the spacers are a bit big. but ive just bought some 17s nice wheels and cheap so i was hopeing that they will fit. ive looked at the archs
   and theres no lip on them its a vts. so i dont no if it was done before i had it.

   up in the rear lights.
   
   dont do it unless you really want them

   tbh 17's are just for show purposes, you will loose out on acceleration with bigger wheels, i personally wouldn't go any bigger than 16's max on a Saxo!

    I have 17s on the sax and it took a lot of work to get them on without rubbing. There's a load that needs grinding away at the back of the car and the front requires the removal of the front half of the arch liners.
    
    If you grab a copy of the Haynes Max Power/Saxo book it tells you everything you need to know about fitting 17s in there.
    
    Do not expext a comfy ride though!

    I have got 17s and dropped it 40mm with 20mm spacers and it did rub pretty bad but all you have to do is cut the bumper bracket off at the back and cut off some of the wheel liner on the front.

    yeah, a vtr i went to look at a while back was on 18's, ride was solid, and watching the lad turn it around was a joke...looked silly.
