Alternative Fuel - Vegetable Oil

  1. #1
Righty as my funds are seeerrry-ass-ly tight, i quite fancy popping some vegetable oil in with my normal fuel (diesel) to offset a few pence.

Now I've heard that the Lucas fuel pumps are a source of problems on the 1.5D's with cooking oil, but I havent a clue how to tell if mine has one... any help would be useful.

And.... if anyone knows anyone that is running oil in their cars, the mix ratio and any further information would be aceeeeeeeeee.

I think the fuel pump is in tank, so I would have thought the only way to find out which pump you have is to either pull the pump out or phone citroen and ask them.

I had BMW 525TDS and i always drove on vegetable oil in summers. There was no problem with the car. The only problem is that you can't drive on oil when it's cold.

Legend as ever sean, well i've been doing a bit more research and it looks pretty likely its a sodding lucas pump so i cant really exceed 10/90 veg/derv mix. still though at 31p/ltr i'll be happy.
