    no i would never have one.

    chips like that usually cause overfueling and premature wear/damage to the engine.

    and a raised rev limit is no good if you dont have the uprated cam to need this

    dont think il be going down that road then! thanks for the advice mate

    not a problem.

    good performance doesnt come cheap. and ebay bargains usually are better on paper than on a car imo..

    at the end of the day if you are not knowlegable (no disrespect) then you wont know this.

    although there are lots of threads about on stuff like this, so if you find stuff in the future have a quick search as you may get a faster response from previous threads.

    I was going to get one that was programmed JUST to lift the limiter but then i thought id rather get a remap.......

    its the sort of thing id buy when my engines on 90k lol but on 17k i dont think so....

    why do you want a raised limiter?? are you on standard cams still?

    mcain chips are better

    Well im looking at a few diff options at mo, im buying next week so i just wanna make sure what im planning on is ideal then get the limiter lifted up when the engines been sweetend up a bit;

    So far the shopping list is;
    fast road Cams
    4-2-1
    Ported polished T/B or possibly A throttle body setup but i think my eyes are too big for my belly.
    Ported & flowed head

    Along with full system, BMC CDA & a bit of weight reduction

    Then next month a lightweight flywheel
    Quickshift (if b&m decide to make some lol bin 6 weeks now)
    Remap

    imo i wouldnt touch the std TB. polishing it can be worse from the physics ive read, as a rough serfice helps increase the gas flow from a vortexish effect.

    same with the flywheel, can unbalance the engine if not done properly.

    Well id get a proper flywheel without a doubt, but the flywheel is deffo getting done... has to be one of the most overlooked mods to an engine....revvin like a motorbike oohwheee

    But as for the T/B can you link me up to some info.... Will it reduce power or roughen up the running? I might have it done and see, i never get the origional parts changed, i buy speperate so ive always got a failsafe....

    And im off to bed now before i end up waking up in my chair....

    you dont need a lightened flywheel mate, keep teh standard airbox with a panel filter imo. and dont get that chip. just wait and get it mapped.

    and i had my TB ported about 2 year ago, never been a problem.

    reducing the weight on a flywheel can reduce torque though, up hills noticeably, so its not just about getting it to rev. matt at qep is the flywheel god.

    ill try and dig out the throttle body + airflow info on the net i read before.

    Already got the BMC. I really want the flywheel lol - I dont think i can be persuaded not to get one...maybe ill live and learn but ill have to see.....

    yep alot of people on TU engines have decided against the use of them.
    i know john seems to bang on alot about how thewy are not needed and can cause extra stress on the crank.
