How To Get The Best Out Of a Panel Filter??

   Hi folks i have got a pipercross panel filter in my phase2 VTR, and don get me wrong its loud in the low to mid range revs, but i just want to know am i gettin gthe best i possibly can from it? I have heard a few stories about removing the standard airbox from around it etc etc........ and i didnt buy an induction kit because i heard that is actually loses power on my car???

   keep it clean, get a better supply of cold air to the airbox, not going to see a great deal of performance increase anyway but will help rev more freely.
   Williamsvts's mate did a test and the panel filter showed better performance over a bmc enclosed!

   you could add another cold air feed to the box and thats about it

   the make of the filter will do a cleaner for it

   You can get propper cleaner from most good stockests of the filters themselves try www.performancecentre.co.uk
   
   Like mentioned above the OE entry into the airbox isnt brilliant so you could try replacing it with a slightly more direct tube leading to say behind the front bumper as to get a larger amount of cool air.
