decided to spray wheels today.
Keyed the surface to allow primer to stick
Sprayed with primer, heating with hair dryer. Allowed to dry
Sprayed 3 coats of black satin using hairdryer to keep warm and to help with drying.
Then after leaving for about 45mins and hairdrying for at least 10, applied lacquer.
In some places it has pulled the paint off and made it go all dodgy. Any one know why this is? Will get pics in a bit

Maybe because you've not let enough time between the different stages. Just really leave 24 hrs for primer to dry before applying paint and 24hrs for the paint to dry before applying laquer. Might not be right, but thts what i reckon.

Its either because the paint wasnt dry before over coating, or the serface was not clean before you started. You really should use a pannel whipe (or even mets or similar) to clean the wheel before you paint, They may have looked clean but could have easily had grease or polish left on them!

i used white spirit to clean off the wheel after keying. It wouldnt be becuase lacquer is only meant for metallic paint would it?

Just leave it to dry naturally, dont use the hair dryer.

As people have said you should leave to dry naturally and should wait 24hrs between primer, paint and the lacqure but the problem you have is because you have not wiped the whitespirit off or let it to evaporate before spraying. I have done the same in the past.

so should i wash them with some clean water after wiping with white spirit?

best to leave to dry naturally dude, im sure theres a few guides on what others did when they sprayed their wheels
