Standard Airbox Question

   What is the little box thing that comes off where the air filter is on a MK1 VTR? Is it the resonator box? If it is could I just take it off an use the hole to add another cold air feed?
   
   PS- I tried to find some pics but couldnt

   Also would there be any point in doing this?Would I lose performance?

   Ive put a new air filter on mine, i took off the air box but left that box on under it, i dont exacly know what it is but its caused no problems for me mate, i think its part of the air box and dont seem to serve any purpose to me so i dont think it would matter if you took it off, dont quote me on that though.

   Yeah i knew what you ment, i dont think it does anything once the main air box is out, as i said ive got an new air filter in mine and ive left that bit in, doesnt seem to do anything so i dont think you need it when you take you air box out.

   Im not taking the standard air box out, I just want to improve the air flow to it.

   you coluld do just make sure the feed is before the filter, i know in the good old days people used to drill holes in the airbox to make it louder lol

    Not really bothered bout the noise tbh, just want to make the box perform better and thought it would be a good way to improve airflow to the filter.

    mine fell off, I drove a 400 mile round trip to Cardiff with out it on and it was fine, Just really loud, I was thinking of putting a cold air feed in mine too
