Centre section!

   Hi all! If I take off my centre section of my exhaust, will I loose power? I have a full Magnex s/s system and GMC 4-1 manifold!

   Well so I have basically a Magnex backbox, whatever make centre silencer and GMC manifold! Looking at something like Remus,Supersprint centre section!

   Or could I just get the centre box off my exhaust cut out and get a straight pipe welded to it?

   It was in the manifold until I took the manifold off for a GMC 4-1! It was quite loud with the open filter but now I have a Green enclosed its gone quieter! I wasn't too bothered that it's quiet at first but I just miss that bit of noise!

   Yeah, just that extra little bit of noise! If i'm going to loose performance then i'll leave it on!

    I have a full system! Just want to loose the centre box because it's too quiet!

    kk. no harm in doing it. i would have done this if i didnt already run a full system.

    Might just get the centre box cut out and weld a pipe to it! Seems a waste if I take the whole thing off!

    the only other option is to sell the whole lot. get a new backbox and supersprint section

    never heard anything bad about them, there are a few on here with full cybox systems and say they are good

    Where did you buy that from mate? Did it fit ok? Also is it louder than in the video?

    no mate that only happens on the new saxo vtrs where there is a lamda sensor in the cat/after the cat to check its working.
    
    they are easy to fit, took me 20 mins with fannying around getting the clamps to seal properly.
    
    is your car stripped out? if it is the whole car resonates at around 3k rpm and its proper loud inside.

    The cat is in the manifold on mine! However I have a 4-1 manifold on it. So i have one lambda probe in the manifold and one probe in a sleeve! So it should still be ok should'nt it?

    yes, you can the longer of the two supersprint center sections that will extend to where the CAT is on mk1's. Ill find a pic in a mo to explain it better

    i've put 233002 on a 01 vtr. the only thing with supersprint is that they are full systems you need to match the centre section with one of there exhausts

    yea you need to match supersprint mid to supersprint back box

    they have discontinued most of their backboxes. The one single pipe one they do is the 100mm one!

    This is the exact same system as mine! Looking at this, does anyone know of any type of centre section to fit this backbox? As I am hoping to get the centre section tomorrow!

    you can get a single box magnex system from abp motorsport. taking the centre section out wont effect performance mate, less restriction and better flow for the gasses. will defo make the car louder

    I am taking my car to Demon Tweeks on wednesday! They are making me a centre section and make it fit to my Magnex backbox and manifold, so will be an exact fit! It's a Powerflow centre section! Cant wait for it to go on!

    Anyone think Powerflow are any good? I know they are not the best, but it's only the centre section after all!

    I haven't had a quote yet! They said it shouldn't be too much at all because I have bought quite a few things off them anyway! Will let you know tomorrow if it's done by then!

    Have just got my car back! Sounds great now! Really pleased with the way it sounds and how much difference it has made to the performance! Will post a vid soon to show you all how it sounds!

    I hav'nt felt any loss of power mate! Also gives off some nice pops and bangs!
