hey all, im lookin at gettin my clutch and flywheel replaced and wonderd if anyone on here has any experience on the matter. ie if it makes much of a differance to rev response or not. also which would you recomend, was lookin at helix aluminium. cheers for any help.

what car you got and what other mods do you have.

a lighter flywheel will improove acceleration, becuase the fly wheel will weigh less it will take less energy to get it moving faster. So the engine should respond faster.

However, if you make it too light you will loose lots of tourque which is a bad thing. Im sure your aware but i will say it anyway, if its not balanced again you can kiss good bye to your steady idle lol

got a 03 vtr, kent fast road cams, superchiped, viper induction, ported and polished head, dropped 40mm all round fully adjabel, powerflex bushes all round, stripped out with cobra imola s seats. and lookin forward to a turbo conversion somtime soon. lol think thats it. outside is standard bar black pro race alloys.

lob away that superchip and get a specific map done for your car on a rolling road to get the best out of that cam. The super chips do next to nothing...

not really but wanted to uprate it now with the flywheel so dont have to drop the gearbox again at a later date when i get the turbo conversion. lol

flywheel i wouldnt bother with. clutchwise speak to saxodaffy on here see what he is running.

remap wise, if your gonna go the turbo route, youll want standolone management so may aswell get that first aswell and have that mapped, then change it when you need too
