gti-6 engine in a vts?? is it possible

#2Yes its possible with lots of money. Asked every day nearly have a search
-
#3anythings possible
-
#4its been done, but its not really worth doing
-
#7its a heavy iron engine, basic spec is same power as a mildly tuned vts
There are better PSA engines to use instead. The concept is a good idea. Its a stronger engine and gearbox, just its let done by its weight -
#8Isnt there a problem with the gearbox? As its too big? Also the turning circle is shocking on the gti-6 so in a saxo it would be laughable
-
#9would be a lot of cutting and welding involved for it to fit but with money its possible
-
#10i fitted one to my 205. Was ok on the roads though i had to cut righthanders at T junctions, but I never took it to a multistory carpark in fear of getting stuckQuote:Isnt there a problem with the gearbox? As its too big? #11asked every fucking day.
As a side point, the metal inlet on the GTI-6 lump is fucking great -
#12anythings possible, lad who i know put a 1.8t engine in a mk4 polo! thats scary quick, then another lad who i met at santa pod put a 1.8t in a clio, that was tuned he was running 400bhp
-
#14no matt black, plastic windows, one aluminium seat with a bit of sponge for a cushion and a little set of clocks and a few gauges, and some really wide steelies!
-
#16it was orange when he 1st put it in, then he painted itQuote:no matt black, plastic windows, one aluminium seat with a bit of sponge for a cushion and a little set of clocks and a few gauges, and some really wide steelies!

the gti6 engine has been done but as said its very heavy, if you want to do it use the 206 gti 180 engine as its alloy
pug performance have fitted one in a 306 and tuned it to over 200bhp and is a hell of a lot lighter than a gti6 lump -
#17think its the same lad who was a fcs 2 yrs ago in the orange clio, he was there last year with a black clio lol
was fast
im sure the gti-6 engine sits lower than the vtr engine and has to be mounted on a slight angle??
would fit if you butchered the car, but would nack the handling and steering i think.
any thing is possible mate if you have the time.
i would love to fit a 1.8 20v turbo VAG motor to the track car, but i think it would be a total ball ache. -
#18also because of the size of engine and sump 17s had to be run when PP did the gti6 106
-
#19but they have a 106 GTI with GTI6 turbo on 15's
to look at it you would think it was a standard gti with moretts -
#20must have overcome alot of issues since i last spoke to colin. i remeber looking at the original blue 106, and seeing how close things were to the floor lol!
