Plug and go??

just wondering if there is such thing as a Plug and Go chip for a saxo?

    if so how much?

are they worth the cash for the gains?

Do you mean something like superchip's Bluefin for most fords? If so I've not seen anything. Only way you can "chip" a saxo is to open up the ecu, or to have it mapped

    cheers mate

There was talk of Superchips producing a generic Bluefin a while ago but not seen anything recently. Might be worth giving a Superchips dealer a call to see if there is anything imminent. Are you thinking of doing this to your engine?

it was a thought which is why i was asking what the gains and cost were. just in the process of sorting the house out so dont really want to be spending much cash atm

there are a few piggy back units that run along side the ecu, but they still need setting up on a rolling road. the likes of dastek etc.

tbh, the best thing you can do is get your standard ecu remapped and setup with the mods you have for your car, wayne at chipwizards can do this for you. its not cheap but its worth it, can also raise you rev limit a bit for you

I got my vts chipped, cost 300 quid but i got a a "superchips customer key" it works like a floppy disk and if i want to remove it a just go back to the place where i had it done and in the same way he chipped it he can put it back to standed at no extra cost.

mark there is no cheap power

if your thinking of universal stuff your going to get mugged off.

your 10x better getting a decent map which takes into account all of the modifications you have, there are barely any engines with the same spec so its important to have an individual map imo.

    when will peaople learn..

yep, a custom map for the mods you have on your car is the only way to do it, anymore mods in the future would also need to be mapped in the same way. its the only way to do it properly, its defo not cheap.

carnt understand some people that get cams and dont have them mapped, the only way the ecu will know that bigger cams have been fitted is if its mapped and the fueling sorted lol if a place states that you will get a extra BLAH BLAH BLAH bhp from fitting cams, it will only be achievable with a remap of the ecu and not by fitting an off the shelf chip.
