a vauxhall redtop wil fit in a saxo??? i heard it through the great vine the other day
is this true?

#1
-
#2not a straight fit
will need lots of custom parts
anything will fit if you have enough money to do it -
#3a 2.0l engine in a saxo can fit just not worth it imo.
i wish that people would stop thinking whacking a big heavy lump in the front or a small car is a good idea, so they can brag down the pub about bhp and 0-60.
same as gti-6 etc... -
#4as above really the main limitations are time and money. you can make it fit, making it handle after is where people will fall down
-
#6like a corsa or nova
^^
-
#7yer there is a reason why citoen kept lighter engines in the saxo
-
#8just buy a williams clio, alot less hassle....
-
#10would probablies be much better just to get a VTS engine in, or like Z cars do a civic type r engine in the boot
-
#11you usually see these in 306's as the saxo-pug 106 is a very tight fit...
-
#12anything is possible if you have the time and money/skill to do so.
tbh fitting a bigger engine to the saxo (in the front) would ruin the handling etc.
would be great for a show car or the drag strip, but shit to drive everyday and on the track etc.
fitting a different engine to the rear of the car would be a different story
from what ive herd of z cars civic type r conversion, its supost to be immence with the rear mounted engine.
you carnt go wrong with a vts lump mate, you can get 160bhp with mods on a na engine. which would be better as by the time you buy the red top, pay for cutom parts, labour etc you will be left with a heavier saxo with shit handling and 150bhp
then loads of vts blipping past you on track days etc lol
-
#13would love to see a saxo with a 3.0l v6 vauxhall or renualt engine in the back
-
#14Would be a really bad idea trying to fit one of these.
Apart from knacking up your handling, time effort and cost, money would be better spent going down the usual mod route.
