went to fit my decat what i got from abp yesterday, and when ive gone to do it today, ive found that the origional cat has been welded onto the mid box. was wandering is i could cut it off somehow without damaging the pipe so i could clamp the new peice straight in
decat pipe

#2i take it its standard system then
you could cut it and then conect it -
#3if its welded onto the rear section of the cat your ok (unless you are fitting the de-cat to a standard system??)
just unbolt the cat from the down pipe and fit the de-cat, if you are wanting to use the decat with the standard system, you will need to chop the standard system so far back and have another connection welded on so you can clamp the rear section to the de-cat pipe.
then you will need a new cat when it comes to mot time.
if you are fitting a full system and de-cat pipe, you will be fine. just unbolt the old from the cat/down pipe joint and fit de-cat then new system.
if the cat have been welded onto the down pipe for some strange reason lol
your pritty much fooked matey, you will have to chop the down pipe and have a flexy joint fitted then bolt the de-cat to that.
if by any chance, the cat has been welded to the down pipe (very much doubt it), let me know, as i have a spare standard manifold for a mk1 vtr that is fine. -
#4its been welded on the join between the cat and the middle box, its going on a standard system for now, as the cat has gone,
