Damsel in destress.... HELP!!!

Can any one give me some info on lowering my VTR?

I recently had to have the back axle replaced to get my car through its MOT, as the rear radius arm was goosed! The garage which did the MOT said it was because the car had been lowered that this problem accured.

Now the axle has been replaced the car is no longer lowered at the rear, and sits slightly higher at the back!

As you might understand I am gutted about this and wondered if any of you guys can give me sum advice on if this is a common problem when lowering a saxo? and how long after a car has been lowered do you start to encounter probs? (the garage said if I was to get it lowered again I would be looking at another axle in a years time!) also now the car sits higher at the back could I encounter problems with anything at the front?

I bought the car (Y reg) already lowered 11 months ago, so don't know exactly how long its been lowered or by how much, but I recon it's about 35mm.

Depends how low it had been lowered and how it had been lowered! Not quite sure how it is down properly but if it was done on the notches then you run risk of fooking stuff up! Had mine lowered nearly a year the wrong way and now stuff is starting to go wrong! Few people on here lower the rear the right way! try contacting one of them!

sounds as if the rear was lowered the wrong way

if it was done the right way i cant see any problems unless it was stupidly low which at 35mm isnt that bad

Yeah as Paul said depends which method of lowering was used, Ive never known anyone else have problems with there torsion bar.

its pritty simple to do right.
best of asking about and see if anyone local can do a decent job. i had my vtr down 60mm for 3 years, it was fine until its last mot and the rear bearing was starting to go.

35mm wont give you anyprobs as long as its done properly.

when you take parts of the rear to lower the car, you are removing the parts that have been in place since new (most cases) the main killer is that some peeps dont do it right and water, dirt etc can get in where it shouldnt, then after a while bearings start to go, then pins in the axle.

its not how it was lowered or if it was too small, as josh said its the ARB seals that die and let the water and dirt get into the bearings.
