Im looking for a back box with a good sound and sits well.

I found this and was wondering if it will be any good?...

Can back boxes really increase the power of the car?

also other suggegestions would be much appreciated.

backboxes wont give you any performance gains tbh, people on here rate magnex and piper mate, however modifications have to be made to the centre section in order to fit the magnex, id go for piper

Piper or manex but it all depends what model car you got some are better suited.

piper is probablies the best for sound and good fitment as for the power you wont get nything from a back box, if your wanting that full system and decat is is the way to go with a manifold, expect to see up tos 5bhp if your lucky

cat in mk1s and early mk2s are under the car late mk2s have it on/in manifold

Yep like mentioned back boxes on their own will see no gain except in looks and sound.

If your looking for a gain in performance from a change in exhaust try and head towards one of the big four off the shelf names Magnex/Janspeed/Piper/Scorpoin others do list fitments for Saxo's its just most people head for brands they know like mentioned.

Also try and budget for a Change to a 4branch perofmance manifold either 4-2-1 or 4-1 both will see gains over the factory fitted item.

Its upto you if you want to deCat the car, this will see another small gain but it will have to go back for MoT time.

check out www.performancecentre.co.uk and www.motorsportworld.co.uk for best prices on the leading exhaust brands

A complete system deCat and Manifold will not be cheap but its money will spent and will see a gain where as a back box wont and is more show than go, fine if your not that bothered about preformance or on a tight budget.

    Hope that helps

    Cheers nicce car btw.

anyone know whos got some pics of a 3.5 piper exauhst?

This was my Janspeed 3' inwardly rolled back box. Most of the top four brands will look similar to be honest, Magnex/Janspeed/Piper/Scorpion all do a 3' or 3.5' inwardly rolled tailpipe fo around the same kinda money

The Piper 4' Slash cut is a very nice bit of kit and sits very nicely on the saxo imo if you wanted that little different to a 3' inwardly rolled

I went for the outwardly rolled 3.5 in the end, cheers all

Would still be nice if some1 could show me a pic of this as It was a close decision and as always I have already started havin a few doubts lol
