Induction Kit 1.1

  1. #1
Looking for an induction kit for my 1.1

Not looking to add any power (obviously) but would like a more beefy sound as its a bit girly atm lol.

Anyone know where I can pick up a cheapish one? and any reccomendations?

Also how do you fit them is it easy..?

how about a K & N one. Reasonably cheap at around £50 - look on ebay. From my friends experiences with them they are good with sound increase and more of a bass tone, as well as a small increase in bhp. Personally thats what i would go for.

Pipercross also make good induction kits mate

it will decrease you bhp due to heat soak unless it has a proper heat shield or a cold air feed. But it will reduce power alot whilst in traffic.

If you want sound you are going to have to loose some power! If you want performance you wont have sound! Although I have a Green enclosed and that gives performance and a bit of sound! Just depends on wether you want to pay £200 on an air filter!

    Hmmmmm

I'll have to have a think about it

How much power are we talking about losing?

Its not exactly a race car i drive so I don't mind 5-8 bhp tbh.

Just like a beefy sound really when I have the music down low lol.

I was reading a 1.1 progress thread today said he fitted it and sounded pretty good for the price?

I was considering on getting that. I chose not to in the end because a air filter is a inportant part oif the car, keeping all the tiny shite out of your engine so I decided that the max power one, for the price, prob wont be that good on filtering it. If you do buy it, let us know how you get on with it.

Yea thats your best bet IMO. That one in argos is abit on the cheap side so i would trust that on my car. You could get a really good one if your willing to pay around £200 but i dont know about you but i wouldnt spend that kinda money on an air filter. Im going to invest in a K&N one soon when i sell this 1.0L Shed

if you want just noise, take your airbox off and put a tight over your throttle body

    Haha.

Wont I suck small animals and stuff up though? lol.

Sou||ess do you know if meshing the front grille has any effect on getting more cold air to the engine?
