saxo west coast

    i have just recently bought a 1.4 west coast and it has had modifications to it such as de-cat straight through system, lightened and balanced flywheel, sports clutch, kent pl13 cams, induction kit enclosed, but what bhp are these standard and what could i expect if i remapped it as dont u have to do it with cammed car??

    also i know people dont like racing but i was side by side with a vtr other day an 02 reg one and other day a s reg vtr couldnt keep up with me he were bought 2 car lengths , only for info this paragraph tho

    They are 75 bhp standard, i have one with a 4 branch and Cat back exhaust and its the same as a VTr, you sure yours has had the work you say as it would kill a VTr with the mods suggested i would have thought..

    full reciepts to prove everythin well i didnt floor it but mechanic at my work said he reckons its not far of my old vts

    im buzzing off it its so smooth and fast for a 1.4

    OK,

    My 1360 TU 8 Valve is currently pushing out 147 BHP at the flywheel.

    The engine will develop more, but so that it does destroy its self revving at 8600, we have aired on the side of caution and not gone the whole hog.

    The thing is running on Jenvey 40 Throttle Bodies and runs a stand alone Omex ECU. The head has been radically reworked and has VTR valves fitted.
    The gearbox has been junked in favor of a Quaife unit, which has lowered the top speed to 100, but it gets there very quickly.

    Even with them mods Im not sure it would be as fast as a S, it might bite at its heels until the power starts to come higher up the rev range of the 16v.

    The beauty though of the tuned 1.4 is that it is lighter that the 1600's so you should easliy give 8v R's in standard or with a filter exhaust combo a dam good run for their money.

    FTW down size the wheels to a smaller lighter wheel, strip out some of the interior and treat yourself to a decent set of sticky tyres and a quick shift to shave even more time off - if thats your thing
