I have just bought a 1998 Citroen Saxo VTS with very lowered
suspension, and I want to raise it a bit. It's on standard Citroen wheels and tyres, and the top of the wheel is only a few millimetres below the top of the wheel arch.... so I'm guessing it's lowered 60mm from standard.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT RIDE HEIGHT SHOULD BE ON A STANDARD SAXO VTS?
It is fitted with Spax dampers on the rear with separate bump and rebound adjustment.
I have raised the rear suspension by pulling out the torsion bars,
lowering the suspension arm and pushing the torsion bars back in (as per instructions on Suzukituning.com) After
adjusting the ride height, to refit the damper I had to lift the arm
about 25mm at the wheel centre (from its hanging position) because even
when fully extended the damper wasn't long enough to reach.
Also, I want to raise the front suspension back to only about 25mm below
standard. The front suspension is allegedly also Spax adjustable, and I
was given a black plastic knob with a Spax logo on it for adjusting the
dampers. I have not removed the front struts, but with the wheel off I
can't see anything on the strut itself to indicate it's a Spax item, so
I'm guessing maybe it's a Spax insert in the standard strut...? The plastic knob does fit on the top of the strut-top under the bonnet, and does turn like it's adjusting something. Does this sound plausible?
any help/info much appreciated.
