#2on an otherwise standard engine I would use a 4-2-1
-
#3The 4-2-1 gives more low down torque than the 4-1
For the 8v Id say the 4-2-1 but for the 16v where the power comes in higher up then the 4-1 which aids more mid to high rev range gains.
www.Kam-Racing.com do some really good deals on RaceLand items, pm them and see what they can offer

#4cheers thanks for that..

#5i have a 4 2 1 and it seems to pull harder i like it any way

#6I think im rite in thinking that the OE factory item on the S anyway is of a 4-2-1 design but the cast iron unit is heavy and restictive compaired to an aftermarket item.

#7standard vts item is a 4-2-1 and is actually not to shabby a design, on the other hand the 8v manifolds are pretty poor as is the whole standard exhaust system on the 8v'ers

#84-2-1 gives more low to mid range power.
4-1 gives more mid to high range power.
If you want a more torquey feel to the engine get a 4-2-1 but if you drive your car everywhere at 5000rpm or higher then get a 4-1.
It has nothing to do with whether your car is 16v or 8v, all petrol engines produce most of their power high up in the revs so you want to capitalise on that if its driven @ its max power all the time therefore getting a 4-1.

#9If you was on a budget or wasnt too bothered about brands etc then there is more of a selection in the 4-2-1 range with RaceLand/Sportex/Janspeed/GMC/SuperSprint/Milltek where as only (as far as I know) GMC and Piper making a 4-1 for the Saxo's and I think the Piper Item is 16v only.
Dont quote me on that but Im 99% sure.
