#2Nitrous all the way
This is the only way to feel the difference.
-
#3Nitrous no thank you
-
#4Full Exhaust System will give a bit more accelleration but unsure if it will make a big noticable different, prob wont. To be honest you are not going to get much more out of it unless you decide to spent serious money but you might as well buy a more powerfull car if you are going to do that.
-
#5fit a 16v engine?
Unfortunately it's not really a performance diesel and you'll fight that in your quest for more power.
Lower gears and saving weight are pretty much all you can do -
#6feed it petrol? lol. my mates got a 1.5d and its seriously slow. buying exhausts etc aint really worth it on a diesel tbh.
Unless u need economy u may aswell buy a petrol engine! -
#7as kam said. shorter gearing really or a supercharger

no really the car to start with mate really -
#8new driver and wanted due to how many mpg is does and a diesel can live alot longer than a petrol
-
#9best advice is just build up some no claims and take it form there. you can still make it look smarter
-
#10pfft. hush up little ones!
enter the derv lads
a talk between the prophet sayer and I, has resulted in this;
adjusting the fuel pump can improve the fuelling of the car. which can potentially lead to a 20% power increase
whats even better about it? ITS FREE!
just make sure you know what you are doing before you attempt to adjust anything
-
#11yea do as bullit says. Get some experience and ncb first. then just upgrade to a vtr or vts. 1.5D is better as a first car than my 1.0i so stop complaining
. You can just make it look good and go cruizing. Will be equally as good as going fast trust me
-
#12theres bugger all wrong with a 1.5d! lol
it may be slower, but to be honest, there are speed limits to adhere to, so we done need the speed.
i agree, as a 1st car, its ideal as it is damn cheap to run
look after the car mate, and dont blow the engine
-
#13Regardless of car or engine - lighten the car and this will return a much better 0-whatever result.
Better tyres giving increased traction will also help.
One other thing which might help . . . Chuck more coal in the furniss
sorry
-
#14i wouldnt bother with a diesel mate save your money for a VTR or VTS
-
#15ok thanks lads, il keep the car until i can get a better one she is a little beast lol
-
#16Where would we be with out the likes of Saxp's leading Coal Burner - Adsayer

So I wouldnt just say right it off because its a Coal Burner but I wouldnt look to transform it into a supercar, nothing wrong in imporving the style with a set of VTR or S alloys and some colour coding and other items. -
#17maybe, better tyres, suspension etc to make it handle better.
not sure if a ralleye box off a pug 106 would fit? they have shorter gearing, then maybe remove some unwanted weight from the interior
not sure if you can get the citroen diesels chipped to increase torque, i know other makes of diesel respond well to this, never herd anything about citroens tho mate.
-
#18As said before, lighten the car, get a chip either from superchips or Primma Racing. My mate got his diesel chipped and there is a noticable change in the car
-
#19cheers every1 for the advice
-
#20Stripping it is your best bet.

#21BUY A VTS! great answer to the question

for the love of god...
as viper said... the fuel injector unit can be 'tweaked' to increase fuelling. there is a adjust screw somewhere on it that you turn to vary the fuelling.
Sensible power increases of 20% can be done without too much smoke under heavy acceleration. although 30% is entirely possible ~80hp
Cost... free. if you know what you are doing
love to see another version of the engine range get 33% extra power for free.
hope that properly answers the question about increasing acceleration...
