MK2 VTR rear beam

  1. #1
Does any1 have a Vt* beam for sale near the Dundee Area, as the Bushes on my beam are screwed causing the rear wheel to sit like this \ maybe not as extreme as that. But ive been told that its not worth replacing the bushes better to get a new axle?

Also i have been offered a 1.1 106 beam will we be able to strip the vtr beam and put the discs etc accross?

    Any Help Much appreciated

the 1.1 beam wont work mate, its got drums and not discs, different setup.

you can refurb the beam but its not a two min job, i gave williams a hand with his and took a while. he needed a new stub pin, he fitted all new bearings and seals.
you could whip it all of and have a check of the stub pins to see if they are really worn, if they seem ok, you will get away with fitting new bealsings and seal to the trailing arms.
if the pins are fooked, you will be looking at 70quid each and would need to find someone with a press to get them out, williams pins to 60ton to break them free lol

buying a second hand beam, dosnt mean that the beam will be ok, only way to check it is when its on the car.

if you were going to fit new bearings etc to your old beam, you mite as well go the whole hog and fit new uprated bushes too

you can use the 1.1 beam mate. take the trailing arms off both beams. put the new bearings in your vtr arms abnd fit them to the 1.1 beam.
