Is My Vts Camed

    is there anyway of telling if my vts has been cammed?? woithout putting it on the rolling roading,as far as i know my car only has 4 branch manifold, decat, full exhaust and induction kit,. i ran a 15.2 1/4 mile at 94.2mph is this cammed performance? i dont think it is but i have the common lumpy idle of the cams. anyone help

    OK, here's the deal. Since you're running a de-cat exhaust, the ECU can get a little confused for many reasons - Hence, some slightly off / eratic fuelling might be taking place at low revs. True lumpyness (Odd word?) will be caused by the valve overlap of the performance cams. (That's depending on the timing currently set too)

    I'm guessing you bought the car secondhand right? Maybe it does have aftermarket cams installed, but who knows what they might be...! I guess the only true way to find out will be to take off one of the cam covers and peep inside.

    mine has days of stalling every five minutes. i wonder if ive got cams? oh yeah i have, lol

    yes it does, most of the time its fine but some days when your foots off the accelarator it will cut out

    Oh... Mine is, but it's not that great anyway. On idle, the engine moves SO damn much, as it's missfireing.

    only way to tell would be to have a look at the cams and see whats stamped on the end

    sound lads,didnt relize they stamped the cams with the brand name

    mite have the brand name, or a product code stamped on the ends

    just what ive herd mind you, i have never had mine out yet

    lol mine either idles ad 2300 or not at all, but then again mine could be cammed!?!?!?

    take rocker covers off and have a look and see what stamps are on teh camshafts.
    Mines standard now and then it has a rough idle around 1k
