I think they come in different forms. The one I got was from Ecosse, and it was a small steel instuemnt, not much bigger than a cigarette lighter. I seen other things that look like an actual gear stick.

mine is a TAS one i think really good i can adjust it. makes the box fell so much better.

mot many tools need to do it. just make sure you get all of the parts needed.

As long as you have acsess to the under side of you car via ramps or large kerb and a Haynes manual I think you should be ok.

I beleive its only a case of removing the surround/centre consol, undo the bolts holding the unit in, undo the gear linkage and then refit with the new item.

Alot depends on the type/style of item as some are a shifter like the B&M item and others are just the base unit like the ones that places like PugPerformance do I think.

Worth checking on a 206 Forum but I dont think its gona be overly complecated

The one from Ecosse was tricky to fit. I had the car up on the ramps at the time for other reasons, so I got it done then. The main problem for me, was the wiring which was in the way. But as your car is a different model, it's likely to be a different ball game. I don't think I can help mate, sorry.

I had mine fitted as I dont have the space either at home or at my parents house to do stuff under the car so depending on your situation you might be as well to have it fitted.
