What is the best cat-back system for a VTS. Replacing mine nxt week due to the big hole in it.

if not get a piper like robbo, sounds the bees knees

This comes up alot and as to this day there is no proven best exhaust for the saxo either 16v or 8v.

Magnex/Janspeed/Piper/Scoprion/Ashley are all good performers and should seem a gain over the OE setup from the cat backwards.

Alot depends tho on personaly tastes as most people chooce exhausts on the tailpipe style rather than proven power figures.

The biggest gains are to be seen in changing the manifold and deCatin the exhaust. Remember that the Cat will have to be returned for the MoT.

Check out these sites for different brands of exhaust:

    www.performancecentre.co.uk
    www.motorsportworld.co.uk
    www.cituning.ltd.uk
    www.rallydesign.co.uk

Custom is another choice and you do get what you want as big as you want exiting where you want it, some people feel custom exhausts as they are not tested and researched do not perform as well as off the shelf sports exhausts but its more a choice of personal opuion I reckon.

Expect to pay antwhere between £150 for a Mild Steel Ashley system right upto £300+ depending on Brand and tailpipe option but most for the big four brands retail around the £250mark

    Hope that helps

custom everyone knows my point on these.

usually unless your talking custom by someone simpson its for stlye not performance

and gashleys can have some major fitting issues

Like I said Not everyone is in favour of custom exhausts even when they are not 5' dustbins, and yes there have been fitting problems with Ashley systmes but its always good to offer every option when people ask the question.

    Alot depends on budget

For the money and gains in performance Id always recommend them along with the others if anyone was on a budget.

Im sure a decent fitter could get it sitting correctly anyway so I dont think the quality is too much of an issue

Now see, Leeroy had a OMP system which alot of people go for when look past Magnex etc and he said that when he changed from the OMP to the Ashley he felt an improvement, and on the whole fort it was a better exhaust.

Just goes to show difference in opuion.

Worth making a note that different people have different views on the same item

although saying that i had a group n omp exhaust and i did find the ashley better than the omp. But you cant feel the amount of difference and performance the companies boast
