3 stud conversion

  1. #1
Hey. I've got a Saxo East Coast and it has "3 studs" and I've heard this is rare so I won't be able to get a wide variety of alloys for her. How do I go about getting this converted to a four stud so I can choose whatever....

hey mate, thought i would bump this back up the list for you and just tell ya what i said yesterday about contacting a breakers and then taking the four stud wheel placements of, you can get them from the following saxos
    -westcoast
    -vtr
    -vts
    -furio

then contacting a 'known' modifying garage in your area and finding prices, hope other people can give ya a bit more info mate

hey. cheers mate. may sound thick....whats a 'breakers' ??
few of my mates are into the modding business, they'll know of a few garages around the area, will have a word with them.

a breakers is a place with loads of cars that have crashed, they take parts off them and sell them to you..

A scrapyard....wont the parts be all smashed up. What would I say to them, just hey how much for a set of four wheels for a saxo (four stud)?
how much would you think it would cost? i buy the four wheels from a breakers and then what....take them to a garage and ask them to convert it.....

right mate, what you do is find a local breakers, there will be some in the yellow pages, and basically when a car is in a crash they are taken there if not repaired, then a car may be smashed at the front but the rear bumper is fine and if you want to buy that then they take it off and sell you it, same if you want an engine or a set of wheels,

There will probably be a fair few 1.1s at a breakers, 4 stud ones, theres always at least 2 at my local scrappy. Very rarely any vt shaped models.

Should be able to pick the parts up dead cheaply. Its just the removing/fitting of parts that can be an issue.

i would do some research before you go so you know exactly what you are after.

if you dont know what you are on about they may well charge you extra just because they can and you wont be any the wiser.

i wouldnt go into it with your eyes closed otherwise it will cost a bomb to get the conversioin done.

kk cheers everyone. two of my friends dads have their own garages so i will be able to get them done without getting ripped off. how much would i be looking at though....a rough estimate, for buying them from the scrappy and getting them fitted...
