lowering

   if i buy a 40mm suspension kit (2 springs 4 dampers) can i lower it to 50 on the back instead of 40 or are the dampers specific to the 40mm mite be confusing but help is appreciated

   yes you can lower the rear as much as you want as you have to get the torsion bar lowered. the rear shocks should be able to cope with 50mm as the standard ones could cope with slammed suspension

   the rear dampers may firm up the ride a little but what controls the rear spring rate is the torsion bars. To match a stiffer front end you need thicker torsion bars or you will have a car that has more understeer characteristics dialed in. Standard torsion bars would be more risk of riding the bump stops over bumpy roads too.

   theres not really a need for a thicker torsion bar, only a small minority will upgrade the torsion bar. but to answer your question, yes you can go 50 at the back.
