VTS engine in a VTR

  1. #1
Hi, I own a 99 V reg (New Shape) vtr. I brought it not realising the insurance wouldnt of been allot more for the VTS. And as my friend has just brought one and i was really impressed with the speed i want to fit a VTS engine into my car. Thing is I could go out and buy one but i do love the colour and interior of my car too much and id love to simply drop the VTS in.

After wanted to modd the car to the standard of a VTS i realised that instead of paying loads out a VTS engine on ebay goes for like £350. Not far off the price of a viper kit for a vtr. So VTS sounds the better option.

My questions are, how difficult would this be and what are the things that ill need to change in order for it to work. Im not really that hot on the whole engine no how but wanted some info so i could talk my dad into lending me a hand on doing it.

    Thanks guys

Really wana stick a vts in though. I dont mind abit of work. Gona do it when i get paid just incase ill need allot of money so ill have it there if i need it. Erm so gota get all the information i can before i start it.

So if anyone has done it let us know so i can get the low down. Shud be fookin sweet!

i was gona do this but decided to have a special 1400 rather than an average 1600.. i.e, spend my money on brakes and sus then do some bits to my engine.

Just seems like a complete bastard of a job to me, probably aint though, lol. After looking at wireing looms etc its far too complicated for me!

JUst mean that if the vts engine is already in the car then there is no messing about... if you put one in then things can go wrong.

Not saying you don't know how to do it lol
