seems good. pretty damn loud for an induction kit, but evertone raves on here about enclosed kits. anyone got a cheap raceland kit? what people make of them.

would i be able to notice performance increases between mine and an enclosed kit?

if you are careful you can get good results from open filters but you have to be careful to make sure they are located in a decent place and don't suck in warm / contaminated air

The racelands are cheap but basically as good as any other. Just change the filter for a better green one.

You should see an improvement in throttle response while on the move as the filter is almost being forced cold air around the cone filter where as the open just draws in atmosphere.

I personally think a open filter is better around town but on longer drives and motorway driving the scoops have it.

I also found making sure the scoop wasnt flush with the slame panel help'd get that little extra air into the filter/scoop as the scoop is only feed through the tiny holes in the slam panel. If the holes where bigger then I feel you'd get more performance out of the item.

Not that Im suggesting you cut sections out of your slam panel as that would be dangerous but maybe adding a cold air feed to the bottom of the scoop could help but then all your doing is making a BMC style filter.

But for the money you cant go wrong and you might see a slight increase in certain areas of performance

I went from a pipercross to a enclosed raceland with green, The piper was loud and thats it, it make 2nd gear bog down and started to piss me off, where as the raceland gave me smooth change of gears no bog downs and i feel the car have better performance the an open.

For the money and the advantages over just an open cone filter you cant really go wrong with the enclosed RaceLand item
