M3 Mirrors

    Got myself a set of M3 Mirrors for my saxo with the view to paint them same colour as the car. Thought to be on the safe side I would check they fit ok, just as well as they fit shit. Basically they fit but not very good, also I can see about 15mm of the base plates from indside the car.

    I have put my original ones back on as I was not happy with the look, for anyone who has got a set which fit nice can you let me know where you got them from as these will difinitly being going back, also some pics of them if possible.

    It strikes my that the ones I got were poorly made.

    My DTM jobbies are the same. The fit is good, but you can see about 15mm of the baseplate sticking past the window.

    Yeah looks a bit naff thought in my opinion anyone got base plates that fit properly or is it the norm to have the overhang.

    Nope! Haven't managed to get pics up yet! Have to send some to scott sometime. Every saxo i've seen with aftermarket mirrors the baseplate has stuck past the window slightly, and living so close to Severnside i've seen quite a few up there! Does'nt really bother me that much with mine, just get used to it. Think it's cos the base plates have to fit the universal mirrors so some plates with match up better than others.

    They all have a slight over hang.. you can usually see one of the fixing screws too...

    Thats the way they are.. mass produced and not top quality. But, fotr the price of them these days, its not surprising

    yeah the fit of mine was pretty gash!! They didnt fit too well aand u could see a bit of the baseplate from the inside. Didnt really bother me too much tho tbh

    some look good and some stick out?..wierd really why they dont all fit the same

    Mine stick out. Lump it mate, you're the only one seeing the inside bit everyone else sees the mint exterior bit!!!!

    i got the same set of wing mirrors as simo (the ultra evo jobbies) and like every1 else the base plate on mine hangs over slightly, but after a while you just get used to it and it seems the norm!

    my M3 baseplates are crap aswell but i prefer it like that rather than havin the stock ones
