box oil - change

   going to change my gear box oil tomorrow.
   i have read the guide and it doesnt sound that hard
   
   has anyone got any tips?

   remove your air filter to gain easy access to the filler plug. have you got some form of funnel to fill it back up with?

   i was going to jack the car up to undo the plugs then drop it back down.
   as for a funnel i was going to use the one on the bottle

   only tip i can give is use the correct oil for the job
   
   its pretty easy to do, the plug has a magnet on it, just clean any filons on there

   the hole on the top of the box is not actually a filling place ppl should know!
   
   its the breather.. however lots fill it here fine

    Yeah, as someone says above, make sure you use semi or fully synthetic gearbox oil or you will have trouble changing gear when it is cold. Also, I put a length of rubber tube on the nozzle of the bottle because I found eccess a bit too tight for the standard one

    if you cant get all of the oil in, in one go run the engine to let it run around the box, leave it to cool then fill it
