   hi im thinking of superchiping my saxo vts from alan jefferys which will cost me £270 all in including a print out couid you give me advise on wheather its worth doing just i dont want to spend that sort of money and not gain anything many thanks graham

   whats the difference from superchipping and remapping? and why not do it?just curious.

   guarentee, if you dont have one .
   
   A decent manifold or exhaust system and a filter will do your car alot better justice,
   also allows for future uprated cams if thats the way you wanna go.

   Remapping is overwriting original software contained inside a cars ECU (Engine Control Unit) with tuned software. This software is referred to as the engine map because it is this program that controls the engine. Remapping is not a gimmick it is a performance conversion that will seriously improve the power & drivability of your engine.

   hi alan jeferys told me that you cant remap a saxo vts all you can do is plug it in to a lap top he said that you only do remaping on suberus and evos etc i dont see why he wouid talk crap because its hes job tuning cars thanks for reply

    i know nothing about remapping, but i know for sure they can be remapped
    And i know that because there is a fair few people on here had theres done

    what does he mean all you can do is plug it into a laptop? its not a keyboard!
    
    If i am guessing correctly there is a socket on the car someone where you can plug into a computer which is running a certain software, within that software they adjust the mapping of the ecu????
    
    now is my guess far wrong?

    hi i asked alan jefferys about fitting cams and he said that he couid fit them but dont recomend it he said that the engine will run lumpy and that i may have trouble with passing mots is this true thanks

    wont run too lumpy after a remap mate, this alan bloke is a joke trust ive never heard anything good about him stay clear!

    plenty of ecus have been mapped as plenty of saxos are cammed. hes prob saying you cant so you buy his product as not many peeps remap them

    who the fook is this alan jefferys bloke!? sounds like a proper tit to me! you say he specialises in tuning cars, but doesn't know how to remap a Saxo and doesn't reccommend uprating the cams! what sort of tuning does he do then? induction kits and ebay chips?

    there is only 2 places i know of that can remap a standard saxo ecu in the UK.
    
    you can get cams to run smoothly without a remap but you wont see a power increase.
    
    and i KNOW you can have the saxo ecu remapped as mine has been done. you need to replace the original firmware chip with an EPROM chip. this also the mapper to keep removing adjusting and adding a new program.

    wayne at chip wizzards is the dogs bollocks, top bloke and knows what he is doing, he will do a remap on the saxo ecu for around £400-£450

    stay away from alan (before you get ripped off) take advice off the site what you get and go with it!
