Loud Exhaust

   can anyone recommend me a pretty loud manufacterers backbox, as the one i have now doesnt seem loud enough. I want one that other cars can hear when u go past them, quite a bassy note, that u can feel would be great! obv to acheive this u might need to de-cat!

   i've a magnex straight through,de-cat and tuned back box.....pretty load but a nice sound

    on a serious note, ashley are meant to really loud and give very good gains, cheap aswel just not stainless

    Custom backboxes are the loudest on their own.

    If your just interested in noise then you need to look at the complete exhaust system not just the back box.
    
    Changing the factory manifold to a 4branch item, remove the cat, straight through centre section and any back box will be loud.
    
    If you dont want to go for a custom job from say either the manifold back (decatting) or just cat back with a Jap style can the loudest off the shelf exhaust you can get is probally the Ashley performance system.
    
    These should pop and fart like a good ern when coming down through the gears and upset your entire road
    
    Check out www.rallydesign.co.uk for the best prices on Ashley systems.
    
    Be warned Ashleys are only Mild Steel and the quality of their fit isnt brilliant so you will probally be best to have it proffesional fitted to be honest.
    
    After that Scropion/Piper/Mongoose are gona be the loudest off the shelf sports exhausts, again you can increase the volume by removing the cat.

    you dont want a loud exhaust man the 5-0 just pull you for fun. iv had 2 producers cos of mine, but they dont tell me to take it off hmm......
    
    Anyone know anywhere i can get my saxo de-cat??? the cat is in the manifold and i dont know anyone who would do it except tints n tweaks but they are quite expensive.

    I think a RaceLand item from www.kam-racing.com will be ok as its just the 4branch manifold - no cat.
    
    But check with Kam-Racing.
    
    Also dont forget that your need your cat for your MoT

    Matey get yourself to longlife exhausts i have had 3 now on my corsa tigra and my zetec s you can have it really loud they call that full sport note or my fav the mid sport note i got mine at the cardiff branch these guys are awsome!

    Mine's pretty loud... It's just pipe, from the tip of the manifold..... to the back of the car. No Cat, No Midbox, No backbox (just 3.5" can).
    
    Tiz unbarably loud... although nothing like going down through the geers and scaring people with what sounds like gun shots.
    
    Soon think i'll be gettin rid of that for a magnex. Till then, pop pop bang bang!

    I got an ashley 4 inch backbox on mine and when youve broke it in it gives a really nice loud bassey note to it, only cost me £88 n all! bargin i think!

    Cybox is the loudest ive ever heard on a saxo got a nice video on youtube when i had one on my old vtr

    If its a noise your after, custom stainless steel all the way. evey custom backboxes are quite loud. my friend had one on his sax, and it sounded really nice. not too loud, but you can tell its not std.
    
    Dont go too loud though, sometimes its just not cool and attracts unwanted attention.

    There are plenty of Loud off the shelf exhaust but for the real deal your want a custom job.
    
    Straight through pipework from either the cat or decat it and go from the beging of the manifold and whack a straight through Jap style can in it with hardley any baffles, you bubble like a turbo on tick over and roar up through the rev range, on the way down your pop and fart like a rally car.
    
    Dont expect this to improve performance tho as a system like that is sure to reduce back pressure and harm performance.
