turbo vtr??????????????

   hi any out there can help i no nothing about how i go about turboing my vtr had it 3 years and now its time for some more bhp how do i go about doing it

   Go to pug1off if you want big power at a decent price and everythin done properly. Say craig sent you and they will look after you. There building a 300bhp vts turbo engine, costing around 5k.

   i know what you mean mate. i want to turbo my vtr as well but im pretty clueless about it aswell. i want it to be a weapon when its back on the road. ive seen these turbo kits on ebay but im not sure if there any good. they come with a turbo/intercooler/pipes to connect it together/manifold and sometimes a modified sump. ive seen them go from anywhere from £300-£500 quid. all they recommend is a set of low compression pistons(£400). i would rather do it that way than spend shit loads if they do work. so if anyone reading this and know anything about the ebay turbo kits let us know. cheers.

   i'd never buy a turbo kit from ebay!!!!
   
   there is not such thing as a "decent turbo kit" if its cheap!
   
   you pay for exactly what you get, a good plaice to start is at GMC motorsport, they will give you all the advise you need and answer any questions or queries over the phone, when it comes to tuning Saxo's GMC are the DADDIES!!
   
   a turbo conversion is likely to cost you in the region of £2500- £5000 depending on how lairy you go, and how much work you are able to do yourself! and on top of that, i'd advise you uprate things like brakes, clutch, etc. all these are extra costs! its not cheap to turbo a saxo!

   it depends if you want to do the work yourself or if you want to take it to a company. gmc are the best but i dont think they do an off the shelf turbo kit. carworx or dpmotorsport also are supposed to be good so try phoning around. it costs allot of money especially if you want it done right

   i bought mine from ebay but it was just the manifold and turbo- nothing wrong with mine

   most of the kits off ebay are old R5 Turbo parts! and personally i don't rate them!

    drop a vts lump in it and cam it, manifold etc then you will make more power for your pounds £££
    
    also you wont have half running issues of a turbo car and it will still be fairly decnt on fuel

    yeah agreed, and it would be just as much fun too!
