#2there not that hard to be honest, i just painted mine on the car, wire brushed them and a bit of sanding down then a few coats of paint
if you have a haynes manual it will tell you in there how to take the calipers and pads off
but heres a guide for not having to take them off, just mask the bits up you dont want spraying

#3i did mine while they were still on the car as well. As long as you're careful you'll be ok.
But the guide is very useful if you want to take them apart to do a more thorough job -
#4if yor takin the fronts off you'll need a 19mm socket as theres two bolts at the back.. you'll also need to take the front flexi off which means the brakes will need bleeding again once there refitted.. much easier to do them on the car i think..
-
#5am very sure there allen bolts on mine, but they are MK2 VTR ones
theres actually 3 different kinds of caliper -
#6cheerz guys, i think i'll leave them on! got a black mrk 2 so thinkin red could look hot!
-
#7hmmm not keen on red but should look good
-
#8Red is the way forward when it comes to calipers.
-
#9well they wouldnt suit my car one bit, i just think its too common of a colour for calipers tbh
-
#11lol i like my porsche dark grey calipers
-
#12ive a gold vtr, have some touch up paint which i got for it ages ago..
was thinkin maybe doin the calipers gold.. what do yas think?
pure hi-jackin the thread here but aww well lol -
#13funkmaster-fresh - colour coding is the way to go mate
yellow would look better with a black car imo. everyone has got them red. i just used hammer rite on mine and they didnt turn out too bad. you get a better finish if you spray them imo -
#14anyone done this with a spray paint? tried painting mine on my VTR when i first got it and it came out crap, spent hours doing it, looking to take them right off of my VTS and spray them up, just wondering the best paint/spray to do it is.
preferabvly spray though -
#15some hight temp paint mate or primer,primer,primer, paint,paint,paint, Laquer,Laquer,Laquer,Laquer,Laquer,Laquer,.....
-
#16leave them on mate, i took mine off and buggered one of the abs sensors!! So my advice is leave them on! I did mine gold btw.
-
#17you can spray them but there just as good with a brush, if you use caliper paint or hammerite it smooths out itself
