VTS OWNERS - Exhaust feedback needed...

Has onyone got the OMP inox system for the saxo VTS.

I have just ripped off my Magnex and before I want to order one I just want to make sure there is no bad feedback or problems with them.

The exhaust is the "group n" jobbie

Any help or feedback appreciated

Try talking to 'Leroy Brown', now he had an OMP but just the Mild Steel one not the Stanless Steel one, And he reckoned that although the exhaust was good quality and did give a noticable diffence in performance he changed from OMP to an Ashley competion system and reckoned that was better.

Try and find him and talk to him otherwise Ive been told that there are few people running that exhaust on SSC but Im not a member so I can say for sure.

VTS_Boy, another thought after reading that thread is I have a supersprint pipe en route to me (the one that goes from the manifold straight to the backbox,without silencers). Would I be better off just buying a performance backbox, or replacing the full exhaust system?

Can anybody recommend a genuine performance exhaust for competition use (other than the btb, unless I can get one for £350!).

It doesn't have to be a road legal system as I plan to trailer the car to track/sprint days

Well, not claiming to be any kinda expert really but the way I see it . . .

As far as I know there is NO one best performer in way and terms of sports exhausts, as no one has done a back to back test on a selection of exhaust on one single car.

As far as I reckon, I imagin the top 4 sports exhausts Maknex/Janspeed/Piper/Scorpion and possibly Mongoose are all going to perform around about the same as they all have a centre box, all around the same kinda bore diameter and all have a back box around the same kinda size with a exit (not tailpipe trim size) all around the 2'-2.5' so I doubt say a Magnex will really be ANY better than say any of the others!

As for other more competion exhausts like the stainless steel OMP system, again who can say as it hasnt been tested back to back against a off hte shelf sports exhaust.

If I was in your postion Id try and have a word with 'Foggy' the bloke who runs the 1400 Saxo rally car, and see what he runs as he is the only person competing in a real form of motorsport with rules etc where as other people are just running track cars with no real limits on bolt on items.

If your track bound only with your car Craig why not just have a Straight through system like the one coming to you then just have a custom compact rear box made up with a small 2'-3' tailpipe or any one of the off the shelf back boxes as I really dont think your be able to see a difference between any of them.

was at saxmax yday and each car uses groupN omp it looked like.

as regards to craig, and a straight through system, sometimes its very important to have a first box in the system, its why the best performing de cat is belived to be the no longer sold magnex, which was a box rather than a pipe, and it had a combustion chamber.

I bought wiiliams OMP off him.

Ive had a magnex, scorpion supersprint and powerflow before this exhaust and I can say that the OMP is by FAR the best exhaust out there for a VTS.

NO mid box makes it rev more higher up the rev range and it sounds mad.

Good size bore too.

OMP is the way to go for a VTS. After all the experience ive had with others I will guarentee it.

Must admit i did like my OMP, be honestly i changed it to a Ashley and it was completely a different car, more of a kick if you know what i mean

My mate has just changed his straight throguh super sprint to a supersprint one with a silencer it in, picks up better and pops and bangs much better

You cant really go wrong with supersprint, but if you want a good quality exhaust cheap.........Ashley all the way my friend!!!!

It does noticely kick you in the arse more when you rev it hard. But as your doing track stuff then its perfect I would say.

I think if I was JUST track bound I might be tempted to go with the OMP stainless steel item but like I said I dont think anyone exhaust has been Proven back to back to be the best of the best otherwise we'd all be running with it.

I still reckomend buying what your think looks good but thats my personal opuion
