  2. #2

    I hope your joking?

Thats stupidly low and will look pathetic.

Your going to need coilovers to go 80mm.
  3. #3
coilovers, dont cut the springs to make it that much either, ive heard people do this and its really dangerous
  4. #4
    80mm? that will look

why do you want to go that low?

yo do realise your not getting over ANY speed bumps without grinding the arse off your sump and side skirts, don't you?
  5. #5

back on topic. its hard to find 80mm springs.

firstly because it looks shit, and seconldy because there are not any dampers designed to run that low.

unless as stated you go for coilovers
  27. #27
well thats them mate but tbh im not arsed to what you think, just another stupid little argument that im not taking part in anymore, back onto the topic
  28. #28

wouldnt recommend that in the slightest. the rate of the spring will be altered. and have to much stres placed upon it imo

just out of interest how low is your saxo mate??? cos it looks about 60 to me
  32. #32
i dont think 80mm is a good idea but im just offering some info that the guy wanted
  33. #33
get some 1.1 60mm lowering springs

and prey at the little bit of extra weight that the 1.4 engine has helps lower it a bit more.

no way will you get 80 though

well in the signature it looks like it im guessing thats a photoshop

and like said a lot of people have 60 on here, 40 mm and 60mm are probablies the most popular ride heights, so you cant really say 60 looks crap, i dont say 40 looks crap looks better than standard, for looks though 60 is the way to go imo

just had an email back from coilsprings.co.uk £95 plus vat delivered
  42. #42
WOW 60mm looks amazing!!! I will be getting mine lowered 60mm asap
  43. #43
I have got my furio down 55-60mm at the front and around 75-80mm at the back. I can still get over speed bumps and the handling isn't spoiled either. The ride comfort isn't the best but if you want to go that low you expect that in the first place. You just gotta take care. Their is a vtr near where i live which is 80mm all round it looks spot on.

  45. #45
i think they might have sorted it out now tbh.
  46. #46

Thats my Furio lowered 55-60mm at front and about 75-80mm at the rear
  47. #47
Mines lowered at 60mm on the front. I bought the car already lowered. Tbh I like 60mm drop at the front, it looks well suited for 14" wheels imo. Each manufacturer or lowering springs have 60mm, but some are more like 40mm, 50mm and some look more. Depending on what springs you get, the springs that ive got on mine that are "60mm" look good imo
  48. #48
Nothing wrong with a lowered car..

Wonder why the Cup race car's and Saxmax car's are lowered 50-60mm if its sooo shit..Also looks good too imo..

    Std height looks bollocks tbh..

because they run on a smooth track where centre of gravity takes precedence over bump steer.

-80mm springs will be pants. There are so many issues as to why you shouldnt use them.
Firstly you will run on the bumpstops effectively giving you no damper control.
Secondly there will be one of two things. The springs will be too soft to get the low rideheight they will go coilbound, or they will be ultra short and will not seat in the springpan, meaning you will fail MOT's and if you go over a large bump too fast they can unseat as the damper extends further than the spring is designed for.
You need coilovers. You will need around £400 for a decent set

My thoughts exactly Kam..So why is there a brigade who insist on std ride height for track cars..
  51. #51

  52. #52
    50mm FTW

    looks and handling in one

because you need suspension travel to ride the curbs
