whats your saxo faster than?

   ok im very curious about what saxos are quicker than, cuz sometimes i get some bastids flyin up beside me lookin a race, and i duno whether to go for it or not.. coz obviously i dont wanna get humiliated lol.
   
   so leave a comment tellin me what ur saxo is and what youve beaten?
   
   mines a standard 2000 model vtr, think its 90bhp.
   ive beaten a 115bhp bora (only just)
   and a mkII gti golf 8v.
   thats all ive raced!
   like to hear some others!

   my gf's dad has one, their about a second quicker to 60 than a VTR, but an S would see one off! the bmw will catch up nearer top end though!

    Fair play. Looking at the specs of the mk3 (is that the one before the new shape) there not as fast as I was expecting.

    lost count o how many people i ve raced,beaten golf gti mk3s and 4s,2.0l focus zetec,vectra super touring,corsa gsi's(the A9 has always got someone wantin a race on it!!!).....managed til keep up wi an impreza on the bypass the other nite,also kept up wi a golf r32 and a 325i before.dont tend til even bother if i know i ll get lashed!!! most people think..its just a little saxo,ha ha more fool them!!!

    not that impressive mate,cotton green enclosed(forced?) filter,full s/s steel magnex system,magnex de cat,also raceland 4-2-1 manifold but it aint on the car at the minute probably only beaten or kept up wi some o these cars is because the A9 is so twisty especially rite up north where am from!!

Get along side a car doing 40, and slow down to the speed limit. So fun ha ha, speciailly when you get through the lights further down the road and they don't...

    Its nice to drive with as it rev's alot more freely . So got for matching engine speed with gear etc when on the twisties and coming upto roundabouts.

    well, my friend with full exhaust system, enclosed filter on his VTR raced a GSi with the same mods,
    
    the GSi beat him by 0.4 seconds 1/4 mile.
    
    but theyre 0-60 is about the same.

    no mate, dnt no if its down to driver error, or such. But alot of it depends on wether its rolling start because then a 4wd car will lose the adv it has! But you can imagine a 280bhp sccoby has 180bhp at the wheels roughly, and weigh alot more than a saxo ! Plus my car is far from standard. I hav even had a 52 plate scooby down the strip, lol

    I have a VTR thats pushing a bit more than standard brake and is stripped, and i couldnt touch a 172 nevermind an R32 which, IRC hits 62 in 6 seconds.... i wish i could lol. Maybe in the future

    Yeh the car is a bit of a beast mate, it has a tb'd vts lump with all the internals done. I believe it run the 2nd quickest n/a 1/4 mile by a saxo that im aware of, should get it down to atleast a 13.8 this year.

    well the bonnet weighs 10kg or so! Plus i found the car ran better with it off 2 be honest, more cold air to the tb's and the increased weight loss, benefitted me more than the increased drag, but wouldn't mind a carbon of fibregash replacement.

    If the motorway is busy and you're speeding onto it down the slip road and not giving yourself time to check mirrors etc then you are breaking the law.

     Thats fair enough and sensible not racing on roads.. i have seen a few accidents down to "street racing" and it just makes me laugh, these people go past their limits on the roads, that is what a track is for...

     i used to do alot of late night driving.
     
     have seen several novas on roofs hitting lamposts/trees. 2 lotus elises in half from hitting trees, and sadly a few years ago a local lad got killed when a tosser drove wrecklessly lost control in some s bends and hit a merc S class.. it was not nice seeing the fire crew stand where the passengar should be sitting trying to cut him and the two in the back (both brain damaged now) out.
     
     when you see stuff like that you begin to realise just how dangerous cars are, and one wrong move can be fatal.

     it the end of the day there is a time and place 4 it all i dont claim 2 be a saint but i tend 2 drive normally and have little play now and then but note i would get arrested 4. i look at this way if i lose my license i lose my job as i can not roadtest cars and also i have a 4 year old brother and if he was to b knocked down by some 1 driving like an arsehole i would be pissed off so how would someones family feel if i knocked there son or daughter down

     i actually drive very carefully, and almost always within the speed limit, even on dual carriageways/motorways..
     
     altho the odd time when some guy comes up my ass lookin for me to floor it, i do..
     not cuz im a speed freak or adangerous bastid on the roads..
     but cuz maybe theyve a different car to me, and i wanna see whats faster!
     i never do any fuckin stupid overtakin menouvers, and the only persons life im puttin at risk when i drive over the speed limit is my own.. cuz i wouldnt put the boot down in an area with other people..
     i save the speed for the dual carriageways in the evenings when nobodys on them!
