If someone was to have a turbo fitted to their saxo, would there be a power increase or performance increase if a larger intercooler was fitted in the system...
intercooler question

#2maybe, maybe not, depends on situation. but in general, more cooling capability is better.
-
#3its just that the inlet temp will be cooler so you can get more performance out of your turbo
cooler the temp the better your car will perform -
#4"How does an intercooler work? Hot air from the turbo flows through tubes inside the intercooler. The turbo air transfers heat to the tubes, warming the tubes and cooling the turbo air. Outside air (or water) passes over the tubes and between fins that are attached to the tubes. Heat is transferred from the hot tubes and fins to the cool outside air. This heats the outside air while cooling the tubes. This is how the turbo air is cooled down. Heat goes from the turbo air to the tubes to the outside air."
So by cooling the charged air, you run a denser mixture and can thereby help the volumetric efficiency of the engine. -
#5break it down...
the intercooler does the same to the air being boosted into you car as the radiator does to your water. basically the fins on the intercooler cool the tubes of air passing through it. -
#6if the cooler is too big then it will induce lag and you may not see the benifit and if its too small then it may not cool the charge enough.

#11and edited, lol

#13rumbled.
-
#14yup, well and truely! lol
-
#16i did quote it tbf! so wasn't asif i was being cocky was it you turd!
-
#18i used to have a punto turbo, so i know a bit, but wouldn't say im " experienced" as such!
-
#19deffo wouldnt say that, you owned a puntoQuote:i used to have a punto turbo, so i know a bit, but wouldn't say im " experienced" as such!
although to be fair my mate had one running silly power, cant remeber if it was over 200 or just under, was great in a straigh line, however i did need to change my pants whenever we went round a roundabout......... bodyroooooooool
