re-trimming the interior

   holá all.. few questions for people that have done, have had done.. or know anything about retrimming the interior of a car..
   
   im guna get my seats retrimmed in black leather in about 3 weeks or so..
   just wondering..
   if i get black leather interior.. and leave door cards that black material with colours...
   will it look shite?
   will i need to get door cards done as well?
   
   and who does door cards?
   the retrimmer guy?
   
   or is it a DIY kinda job?
   and if it is, what tools will i need?
   ive tried to find a walkthru guide on here, but cant seem to..
   also, id needa go black leather doorcards, cudnt have them black cloth cud i?
   or cud i?
   
   need help, lol.. my brain is full of shite!

   the person who retrims the seats should do you a good deal mate, unless you want to ship them to schaffino leather, think they do the lot for about 550 if your a premium member that includes the doorcards all seats and a gear gaitor, not sure about shipping costs though you would have to phone them up for that

   yeah was thinkin about gettin them to do it for me, if they would..
   cuz id spend ages fuckin around and prob break the clips and shit lol.. more hastle than id need i reckon!
   
   defo not up for shippin my seats away anywhere lol..
   theres a guy who lives 7miles away thats guna retrim mine i think!

   the bloke who is trimming them just ask him you want the doorcards done or else its gonna look shite, he should do you a good deal tbh or you could always get some 1.1 plastic doorcards they have no material on them, but have a hole for the window winder, most people stick a tweeter for components there though

   i drive a mkII vtr saxo.
   i suppose even if i got the doorcards done with a black cloth it wud maybe be decent enough..
   tho it would look good black leather also.
   have you ur interior done mate?

   i bought a 106 gti interior and trimmed the doorcards myself

    yea mate i no what u mean about doing it yourself!!! it feels much better wen its finished, and btw if anyone is thinking of producing a guide it would be much appreciated as i was considering diying it myself :s

    yeah looked at pred's progress thread, and the 106 gti seats are nice..
    only thing is tho where the fuck do i get them!
    all you dudes are english, and im from ireland lol..
    unless anyone fancies shippin them over to me!
    
    and im very wary about all that shippin and paypal and shit!
    i always imagine me payin for the seats, then never seein the seats arrive and wham bam i just lost out a few hundred quid and can do nothin about it!

    look on ebay, or if you have breakers yards over there then phone about for some, sometimes a full retrim can work out cheaper than buying a gti interior, ive seen them go for as much as 600 no problem

    phoned a few breakers yards yesterday.. they have 106 interiors, but not gti leather ones lol... fat lotta good that is to me!
    think theres a gti interior on the forums here goin for 230 or somethin.. but thing is, i dont get paid till june 15th hah

    i paid 400 inc doorcards for mine. went to wales for it too.
    
    probably the best use of money i've spent on my car makes so much difference and looks so much better.
