#3OK i get the point you dont like 60m springs! Personal choise but I want them! Anyone help?
-
#4Why not just buy a 60mm kit mate?
-
#5why do people think 60mm is crap, honestly mine handles great and a lot better than standard not all of us are mad about performance you know, some of us like looks as well as handling]
how much you got to spend rich?? -
#6because it is crap! as the lower spring usually has alot softer spring rate, and the dampers are not made shorter... and slammed looks gay.Quote:why do people think 60mm is crap, honestly mine handles great and a lot better than standard not all of us are mad about performance you know, some of us like looks as well as handling]

and also learn to take my posts as a bit of tongue in cheek
-
#7Because its to low. Driving about on your bump stops make the car very unsafe on the open road. I have tried all manner of highest on the track and even on the track I would not run 60mm.
-
#10well some people like it for looks and i dont find being down 60 bad at all you get used to the ride, mines been like that for 4 years now and nothing has happened so cant be that unsafe
tongue in cheek wtf are you going on about ??
and the fact is rich is wanting 60mm spring so back onto the topic and if you want to argue the point argue with a load of people on here who are down 60mm, you have to remember were not all into doing track days and want it for handling purposes -
#12as to all his remarks, we know what he likes, hes just winding you upQuote:

#13just answer the lads question in his first post and stop spamming, he wants to know what kit he should get not bloody opinions
-
#14LOL ryan..
60mm is abit far tbh imo.. 50mm is as far as i would go..
If you want to go super low get coilovers so it handles with some respect.. -
#15how many have acxtually been down 60mm exactly
-
#16im not spamming. if you were to read the ammount of advice i give you would see i dont spamQuote:just answer the lads question in his first post and stop spamming, he wants to know what kit he should get not bloody opinions
a little bit of a joke everynow and again is allowed... try to not take life so seriously who knows you may have fun
-
#17not taking it seriously just the lad is wanting 60 springs he,s not after handling its more looks if i know him best, am sure he is going for the euro look
-
#18ryan loves his tongue in cheeks aye
-
#19but you say looks.. you class what as looks? so slammed means looks? you accuse me of saying im all about performance, whats to say a hard spring at 80mm might not perform, you seem to think that 60mm is the only way for looks and anything else is not.Quote:not taking it seriously just the lad is want 60 springs hes not after handling its more looks
think about it

#20Fook me children leave it out if people want 60mm let them do it. People have there choices an thats the way of life if it werent we'd all be the same an it would be boring.
Have you tried spax mate think they do a 60mm kit -
#21I have nothing against show cars. Some of the ones I have seen I think are stunning. Its really nice crossing about in something a bit individual. that’s the beauty of them as you can do anything to them as its what you want from the car. So it does not matter what other people say. Its just often you year people talking about doing things for perforce and or handle when really its does none of that. If you really do want 60mm I would say give Faulkner a call. With a good set of short hard group N Bilstein dampers and some larger rear torsion bars you could still keep the car slightly practical.
-
#22there we some advice take a leaf out of his book
ave never said fook all about what you said
have you had your car at 60 before?? -
#24yeah driven takes a few weeks to get used to it, im saying im used to mine and i like the way it looks and handles, we all have our own opinions and tbh im sick of having these convos with you, stick to the question being asked
-
#25larger torsion bars will mean revalved dampers, the groupNs are belived by many to need revalving if upgrading to something like 21/22mm bars.Quote:I have nothing against show cars. faulkner will be the best bet for springs but even then they dont do a large range. -
#26learn to take a joke then.. its not difficult.Quote:yeah driven takes a few weeks to get used to it, im saying im used to mine and i like the way it looks and handles, we all have our own opinions and tbh im sick of having these convos with you, stick to the question being asked
your the one who jumps on the bandwagon when ever a joke is said. -
#27i can take a joke mate just the lad is asking about 60 springs and were he can get a good deal for them

-

#30I have gone down to two inches down (still on old measurements) thats just over 50mm and had all sorts of problems. It does work well on really flat tracks though. Most tracks I am closer to inch and half. But even the bumpiest track tends to be smoother than most roads. I did have AVO 50mm springs on a road car at one point, But I was not happy with them. The suspension just jumped through the travel and was very nasty to drive. I blew a few dampers and killed a drive shaft as well. I also had a set of spax springs that were supposedly not quite as low but they looked about the same. Had the same sort of problems. My car now is standard and I am very happy with it as it is. For a road car it has to be the best setup. I may get some slightly harder springs though.
-
#31he also ran them with the soft 50mm gmc springs, which is why he was sideways all the time.
as i said im not 100% sure as off the top of my head i cant remeber the damping rates needed. and the lb of each set of bars at 21,22,23mm -
#32ahh he would been better with some uber stiff faulkners then
-
#34Spax Kit -60

#35OK I still aint quite sure if I am being helped here or not. I am only looking for a temporary measure until I can afford a good set of coilovers or I can find a decent set up on some adjustable shocks.
So do Faulkner do 60mm springs??
would they work well with group N bilstein dampers? -

the groupN dampers are shorter than a standard damper. thing is the dampers are about 400+ vat irc.. so not worth it if your going coilovers in the long run.
faulkner as far as im aware dont have a 60mm spring as yet.
its worth ringing them and asking as they do diffrerent height and LB springs. -
#37Ok cheers.
Any one a good decent set of springs to have just as a short term option? -
#38easy to get 55mm kits off the bay of e
